A message from Owner/Head Groomer, Mikako:

Grooming is an important aspect of a dogs' care.

When I got my first dog in the USA , a miniature schnauzer named Asahi, I took her to many different grooming shops, but I was never quite satisfied with their service. Either the cuts didn't fit Asahi's personal style, or the service was sloppy and unprofessional. Asahi has trouble, too ; coming home very stressed or overly excited from being caged all day. After a lot of frustration,
I decided to enroll in a grooming academy to see if I could learn the skills to do better.

I progressed quickly through school and received the highest marks in all disciplines. As I learned more about grooming and styling, my creative mind welled up. I had done all the standard clips taught at school and used at AKC dog shows , but soon realized every dog is different - even the pure breeds.  Just as each dog has its own unique personality, they also have their own unique physical characteristics which can be enhanced by a proper, professional grooming.

I immediately fell in love with the profession. BowWow Beauty was the next logical step for me. Out of school and working on my own, I continue to educate myself and keep up to date on all the advancements in the grooming industry, not only here in the USA but also back in my home country of Japan.

Blending the grooming techniques of Japan and America has made my work stand out against the competition and has allowed me to create many new clips and styles that bring out a dog's face, body, and true personality.

At BowWow Beauty, we take a lot of pride in our work and feel that we provide a better quality service than most of the other groomers in the area. Our goal is to make each dog happy, healthy and clean , and thusly each owner proud of their dog.
